The McLintlocks had inherited a waterlogged home plagued by years of failed waterproofing attempts. Drawing on our expertise, RPA proposed a full roof system restoration— re-establishing the roof system to full functionality by first removing all failed and incorrectly applied waterproofing, removing all organic matter with a chemical softwash and encapsulating all maintainable elements with a permanent EPDM Waterproofing solution. With precision and experience, the team concluded the repair with a rain simulation test which provided physical proof of repair and resolved a 10-year-old leak others had previously missed. The home’s waterlogged flat slabs and aging slate tile roof required a specialised solution—a ponding approved and UV stable EPDM waterproofing solution and the proposal of our EPDM Slate Encapsulation system. This innovative approach not only restores the slate’s waterproof integrity but also preserves the aesthetic of the original roof.
