Waterproofing flower planter boxes presents a unique challenge—balancing effective moisture control with the need to preserve healthy, thriving plant life. Traditional waterproofing methods often struggle with the constant exposure to moisture and root activity.
Our customer, George-Suid Laerskool reached out to RPA Waterproofing for a solution. Our answer, EPDM waterproofing membranes. EPDM membranes are flexible, strong enough resist root puncture and is inert (does not leach toxic chemicals into the soil). Our superior EPDM membrane was securely fastened to the main brick face wall and loosely encapsulated within the steel caged planter box creating a robust waterproof barrier. RPA Waterproofing also recommended the use of engineered soils to avoid root rot and ensuring optimal drainage and moisture retention without compromising plant health, making EPDM the ideal choice for long-lasting, eco-friendly planter box installations.
