The Lookout House – Hamsmoeskraal AH

EPDM Waterproofing Rooftop Garden

The lookout house located in the heart of the Garden Route, George was envisioned and designed by one of the top architects in the Cape Town, South Africa. RPA Waterproofing was recommended to help design and install a suited waterproofing system capable of resisting heat, ozone, thermal cycling and root resistance for a state-of-art 700m² rooftop garden with a 400m box gutter drainage system

South African climate has one of the highest UV radiation indexes in the world and adverse weather conditions intensifying the need for a superior waterproofing system. The appointed architect made a smart choice by specifying EPDM Rubber membranes to offer the client with unmatched durability, flexibility, lightweight but tough and sustainable solution for an iconic modern green roof here in South Africa

House Schonken – Blanco

EPDM Waterproofing of wood boarded Flat Roof

Nestled at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, Blanco in George, South Africa, is a suburb rich in history and charm. Many of its early homes were built using traditional construction methods, including brick structures and wooden roofs that reflected the craftsmanship of a bygone era.

Our client’s home, passed down from generation-to-generation, was a time piece in need of preservation. The removal of the previous waterproofing system exposed a damaged heritage roof after many years of expose to the harsh South African element. EPDM waterproofing membranes was the superior choice boasting flexibility, breathability, and compatibility with wood due to its cold application method. EPDM membranes provide a seamless, long-lasting solution that encapsulates and safeguards these timber roofs without compromising their historical and functional integrity. Thank you, Anton for entrusting us with providing your home with a permanent waterproofing solution to help preserve your family’s heritage

George-Suid Laerskool

EPDM Waterproofing of Flower Planter Box

Waterproofing flower planter boxes presents a unique challenge—balancing effective moisture control with the need to preserve healthy, thriving plant life. Traditional waterproofing methods often struggle with the constant exposure to moisture and root activity.

Our customer, George-Suid Laerskool reached out to RPA Waterproofing for a solution. Our answer, EPDM waterproofing membranes. EPDM membranes are flexible, strong enough resist root puncture and is inert (does not leach toxic chemicals into the soil). Our superior EPDM membrane was securely fastened to the main brick face wall and loosely encapsulated within the steel caged planter box creating a robust waterproof barrier. RPA Waterproofing also recommended the use of engineered soils to avoid root rot and ensuring optimal drainage and moisture retention without compromising plant health, making EPDM the ideal choice for long-lasting, eco-friendly planter box installations.
