RPA Waterproofing was proud to be specified and referred to assist the Western Cape Government in preserving one of Mossel Bay’s historic museum buildings near Dias Beach. Our mission: Waterproofing and encapsulating its aging asbestos internal and perimeter box gutters. The project required professional planning and sensitive execution of encapsulating the asbestos gutters without disturbing and affecting it’s local and international guests. EPDM proved its superiority as the ultimate and ideal solution mainly because of its uniform encapsulation over degraded substrates, cold-adhering installation and its ability to withstand constant exposure to pooling water. The EPDM system not only ensured long-term waterproofing performance but also safely encapsulated hazardous materials—protecting both our historic structure and the surrounding environment for years to come.
